December 7, 2017 – Pearl Harbor Remembrance – Pioneers Museum, Colorado Springs
The Colorado Springs Council will co-host the annual Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Observance on Thursday, December 7 at 1100. It will be held in the courtroom on the second floor of the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum at 215 S. Tejon Street, Colorado Springs, 80903. The public is invited to attend this commemorative ceremony that will honor local Pearl Harbor survivors, including James Downing, Donald Stratton, Louis Brockly, and George Blake. Veterans from WWII will also be honored. Mr. Jeff Greene, Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Colorado Springs, will make brief remarks. The guest speaker is Dr. Lance Blyth, Command Historian, NORAD and US Northern Command. He will discuss the attack on Pearl Harbor from a historical perspective. A ceremonial wreath laying will pay tribute to those from all military services who gave their last full measure of devotion on that fateful day.
December 9, 2017 – Army/Navy Viewing – The Sports Column in Denver – 11am
The Denver West Point Society and Colorado USNA Alumni Association cordially invite you to watch the 118th playing of the Army-Navy game on Saturday, December 9th, 2017. This year’s joint watch party will again be held at the Sports Column located at 1930 Blake Street, Denver. Kickoff is at 1:00PM MST, and doors will open at 11:00AM. Be sure to arrive early as the bar was almost completely full last year. Thanks to generous donations from both alumni societies, the Sports Column, and the athletic departments of both academies, there will be door prizes given away throughout the game during breaks in the action. Everyone attending will be eligible to win. Attendance is FREE but there is an online registration for planning purposes. CLICK HERE to register and use password “DenverArmyNavy2017”. This year we are again partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program in an effort to bring some holiday cheer to less fortunate children in the greater Denver area. All monetary donations to Toys for Tots as well donations of new unwrapped toys will remain here at our local Toys for Tots program. When you register online, you’ll have the opportunity to donate to Toys for Tots. Donations of $5 or more will earn a free draft Coors Light courtesy of the Sports Column. Game day donations of new unwrapped toys, cash, or check will also qualify for the free draft Coors Light. You may also make separate donations to both the Denver West Point Society and the Colorado USNA Alumni Association. Checks for Toys for Tots should be made out to: Marine Toys for Tots Foundation C/O Aurora, Colorado Chapter.

Doors will open at 12:00pm at the Anheiser-Busch Visitor Center at 2351 Busch Drive in Fort Collins. The broadcast begins at 12:00pm and kick-off is at 1:00pm. There is no fee to attend and all will be responsible for their own tabs. This is a family-friendly environment. Kids are welcome to attend. If you plan to attend, please email Shannon Bican Sharrock at firstname.lastname@example.org with the number of people in your party so that she can reserve the proper number of tables for the game.
December 28, 2017 – All Academy Ball – Broadmoor Hotel, Colorado Springs
This year’s All-Service Academy Ball will be held on Thursday, December 28th at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. It’s a fun and inspirational event that honors the cadets and midshipmen from all the Service Academies.

- Friday, January 19, 2018 – Guest Speaker will be David Soucie, flight crash investigator, CNN Correspondent and author of “Why Planes Crash”.
- Friday. March 23, 2018 – Guest Speaker will be RADM Richard P. Snyder, Director of Strategy, Policy and Plans (J5), North American Aerospace Command and United States Northern Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. RADM Snyder is responsible for North American Aerospace Defense Command strategy, policy, plans and requirements development for the safeguarding of the United States and Canada via assigned missions of aerospace warning, aerospace control and maritime warning. For the U.S. Northern Command, he leads development of strategy, policy, deliberate plans and security cooperation with Canada, Mexico and The Bahamas, to accomplish primary missions of homeland defense and support to civil authorities.
